Florida Sporting Clays Provides Shotgunning Instruction for Residents of Tampa, FL & Surrounding Communities
At Florida Sporting Clays, we have one mission: to help residents throughout Tampa, FL, and all neighboring areas improve their skills in what is currently the fastest growing sport in America – sporting clays. A form of clay shooting, sporting clays is staged on specially designed courses that incorporate shooting stations laid out over natural terrain. Unlike in trap and skeet, targets are deployed in a variety of different trajectories, speeds, distances, and elevations, challenging shooters through the simulation of live-quarry shooting. The advent of this modern shotgunning sport is upon us, with new courses popping up all the time, not only in the Tampa Bay area but throughout the U.S. There’s no better time than now to develop or enhance your shotgunning skills so that you can enjoy a challenging, rewarding, and fun outdoor activity for years to come.
Florida Sporting Clays teaches a unique method for clay shooting called the Coordinated Shooting Method (CSM), which was developed by legendary shotgunning instructor John Higgins. This innovative approach to instruction differs from traditional shotgunning instruction in that it:
- Teaches a shooting method, rather than technique (such as swing through, pull away, or sustained lead), that helps you focus on hitting targets in the way that works best for you
- Allows for simple, effective self-correction after missing a target
- Is student-focused, rather than instructor-focused
- Is designed to be fun, flexible, adaptive, and creative
Furthermore, CSM doesn’t discriminate based on skill level. It can result in improvements not only for beginners, but for veteran shooters as well. As long as you’re at least 10 years old, have the physical ability to shoot a shotgun, and want to get better, Florida Sporting Clays will be pleased to help you start breaking more targets and having more fun on the course. So, whether you’re an experienced shooter seeking to break 80 or 90, you’re looking to improve your skills for waterfowl hunting, or you’re a novice looking to get into America’s next great sport, we’re here to help.
